tile project
bowl project
This is a bowl, even though it looks like it is more of a vase/mug shape. I put ridges on the rim of the bowl to make it look castle-like. Then, knowing i needed to add more onto the bowl, i carved out shapes and lines on the rest of the bowl. The bowl itself is pretty random, and didn’t take much thought. So, i used bright colors, that i picked at random, just like the design itself.
END OF THE YEAR QUESTIONNAIRE:
This was a great year in ceramics. I would have to say that the first project we did was probably my favorite. That project was the tile project. It was my favorite because there was such a wide range on what to do. Actually, now that I think about it there wasn't really even a range you had to stay within to begin with. I think that the most valuable thing I learned this year was to always stay true to your artwork and yourself. If you don't like it, even though everyone else does; throw it away and start over. If its you're favorite, but no one else's take pride in your unique piece of art. Sure, sometimes you would hear people when they observing your work, and maybe they didn't say the best things; but who cares when you can take pride and love in something that you sculpted with you're own two hands? Not me. In 10 years, if I even remember high school (ha ha...) I would remember the same thing. Stay true to you. Always.
